New Delhi (NVI): The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is celebrating the 25th National Reading Day today, with a focus on technology-enabled reading.
The National Reading Day will be celebrated, with the following week as Reading Week and month as Reading Month which will be observed from June 19 to July 18, 2020.
This day is celebrated to honour the father of the ‘Library Movement in Kerala’, the late P.N. Panicker, whose death anniversary falls on June 19.
In addition to this, the P.N. Panicker Foundation in collaboration with the government is carrying out the initiative to celebrate outlining several reading-related activities to be conducted virtually this year because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
CBSE has also asked schools to observe Reading Day, Reading Week and Reading Month by conducting online activities or other activities involving technology available to the students.
