India records 18,833 new COVID19 cases, 278 deaths

New Delhi: India recorded 18,833 fresh COVID-19 cases and 278 deaths in the last 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry said today.

With this increase, the total active cases now are 2,46,687 while the cumulative death toll has gone up to 4,49,538, it said.

Nearly 24,770 patients have recovered in the last 24 hrs, taking the total number of recoveries to 33,175,656.

A total of 92,17,65,405 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in the country so far, with the inoculation of over 59,48,360 beneficiaries in the last 24 hours.

Yesterday, the country reported 18,346 fresh COVID-19 cases and 263 deaths in 24 hours.

The previous day report said 20,799 COVID-19 cases and 180 deaths were registered in 24 hours.

At least, 22,842 fresh Covid cases and 244 deaths were reported from across the country the previous day.

On Saturday last, the country registered 24,354 new Covid cases in 24 hours.

A day earlier, 26,727 fresh COVID-19 cases and 277 deaths were reported in 24 hours

On Thursday last, the government reported that the country had recorded 23,529 fresh COVID-19 cases and 311 deaths in 24 hours.
