New Delhi: India recorded 21,257 fresh COVID-19 cases and 271 deaths in the last 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry said today.
With this increase, the total active cases now are 2,40,221 while the cumulative death toll has gone up to 4,50,127, it said.
Nearly 24,963 patients have recovered in the last 24 hrs, taking the total number of recoveries to 33,225,221.
A total of 93,17,17,191 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in the country so far, with the inoculation of over 50,17,753 beneficiaries in the last 24 hours.
Yesterday, the country recorded 22,431 COVID-19 cases and 318 deaths in 24 hours.
On Thursday, the country recorded 18,833 fresh COVID-19 cases and 278 deaths in 24 hours.
A day earlier, 18,833 fresh COVID-19 cases and 278 deaths were reported in 24 hours.
On Tuesday, the country reported 18,346 fresh COVID-19 cases and 263 deaths in 24 hours.
The previous day report said 20,799 COVID-19 cases and 180 deaths were registered in 24 hours.
At least, 22,842 fresh Covid cases and 244 deaths were reported from across the country the previous day.
On Saturday last, the country registered 24,354 new Covid cases in 24 hours.
