New Delhi: India recorded 31,222 fresh COVID-19 cases and 290 deaths in the last 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry said today.
With this increase, the total active cases now are 3,92,864 while the cumulative death toll has gone up to 4,41,042, the ministry said.
Nearly 42,942 patients have recovered in the last 24 hrs, taking the total number of recoveries to 3,22,24,937.
A total of 69,90,62,776 vaccine doses have been administered in the country so far, it said.
The number of fresh cases reported today is less than the figure reported yesterday, when the figure was 38,948.
The death figure reported yesterday was 219.
On Sunday, the country recorded 42,766 fresh COVID-19 cases and 308 deaths in 24 hours.
Nearly 42,618 fresh COVID-19 cases and 330 deaths were reported from across the country in 24 hours, a day earlier.
At least 45,352 fresh COVID-19 cases and 366 deaths were recorded in the country in 24 hours on Friday last.
The previous day report said 47,092 COVID-19 cases and 509 deaths were registered in 24 hours.
