India records 38,948 new COVID19 cases, 219 deaths

New Delhi: India recorded 38,948 fresh COVID-19 cases and 219 deaths in the last 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry said today.

With this increase, the total active cases now are 4,04,874 while the cumulative death toll has gone up to 4,40,752, the ministry said.

Nearly 43,903 patients have recovered in the last 24 hrs, taking the total number of recoveries to 3,21,81,995.

A total of 68,75,41,762 vaccine doses have been administered in the country so far, it said.

Yesterday, the country recorded 42,766 fresh COVID-19 cases and 308 deaths in 24 hours.

On Saturday, the country recorded 42,618 fresh COVID-19 cases and 330 deaths in 24 hours.

At least 45,352 fresh COVID-19 cases and 366 deaths were recorded in the country in 24 hours on Friday last.

The previous day report said 47,092 COVID-19 cases and 509 deaths were registered in 24 hours.

On Wednesday, the country recorded 41,965 COVID-19 cases and 460 deaths in 24 hours

Nearly 30,941 Covid cases and 350 deaths in the country in 24 hours were reported a day earlier.
