India records lowest single day Covid cases in 558 days

New Delhi: India registered 6,822 fresh Covid cases in the last 24 hours, which is the lowest single-day figure in 558 days, the Union Health Ministry said today.

The country recorded 220 Covid deaths during the last 24 hours, taking the cumulative death toll to 4,73,757.

The total active cases across the country now stand at 95,014, which is the lowest in 554 days, the Ministry said.

Around 10,004 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours, taking the cumulative tally of recovered patients to 3,40,79,612.

The vaccination figure has reached 1,28,76,10,590 across the country with inoculating 79,39,038 beneficiaries in the last 24 hours, the ministry said.

Yesterday, the country reported 8,306 fresh single-day Covid cases and 211 deaths in 24 hours.

A day prior to that, the Ministry reported a big jump in single-day Covid fatalities, with 2796 deaths being reported from across the country on Sunday.

The death figure during the previous 24 hours was 415.

According to the Union Health Ministry, 8,895 fresh Covid cases were registered in the previous 24 hours and the total active cases stood at 99,155.

The country reported 9,765 fresh Covid cases and 477 deaths in 24 hours on Last Thursday.
