New Delhi: India registered 3,116 fresh Covid cases in the last 24 hours, which is the lowest single-day figure in 673 days.
The single-day Covid death count across the country has also dipped to 47, which is the lowest single-day toll reported since April 23, 2020.
With this the cumulative death toll has risen to 5,15,850, the Union Health Ministry said today.
Nearly 5,559 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours, taking the cumulative recoveries to 4,24,37,072, it said.
The active cases across the country stand at 0.09%, taking the total active caseload to 38,069.
Yesterday, the country registered 3,614 new cases in 24 hours.
On Friday morning, 4,194 fresh Covid cases and 255 fatalities were recorded across the country in 24 hours.
The country registered 4,184 fresh Covid cases and 104 fatalities in 24 hours, a day earlier.
On Wednesday morning, the country registered 4,575 fresh Covid cases and 145 fatalities in 24 hours.
A day prior to that, the country registered 3,993 fresh Covid cases and 108 fatalities in 24 hours on Tuesday.
