New Delhi: India recorded 16,156 fresh Covid cases and 733 fatalities in the last 24 hours, Union Health Ministry said today.
With this, the cumulative death toll has gone up to 4,56,386 and the total active cases stand at 1,60,989, the lowest in 243 days.
The active caseload constitutes 0.47% of the country’s total Positive Cases, which is the lowest since March 2020, the Ministry said.
The recovery rate across the country stands at 98.20%, it is currently at its highest peak since March 2020.
Nearly 17,095 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of recoveries to 3,36,14,434, it said.
The country recorded 13,451 fresh Covid cases and 585 fatalities in the last 24 hours yesterday.
Nearly 12,428 Covid infections and 356 deaths were reported on Tuesday.
A day prior to that, 14,306 fresh COVID-19 cases and 443 fatalities were reported in 24 hours.
The country recorded 15,906 Covid cases and 561 fatalities in 24 hours, a day earlier.
The single-day figure reported last Saturday was 16,326 along with 666 deaths in a span of 24 hours.
During the previous 24 hours, 15,786 new cases and 231 deaths were reported from across the country.
