India registers 2,64,202 new Covid cases

New Delhi: India registered 2,64,202 fresh Covid cases and 315 fatalities in the last 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry said today.

With an increase of 4.83% since yesterday, the Omicron cases across the country has gone up to 5,753.

The cumulative death toll due to the Covid pandemic has reached 4,85,350.

The active case stood at 12,72,073 and the daily positivity rate gone up to 14.78% from 13.11%, the Ministry said.

Nearly 1,09,345 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours, taking the cumulative recoveries to 3,48,24,706.

Yesterday morning, the government said 2,47,417 fresh Covid cases and 380 fatalities were reported from the country in the last 24 hours.

Nearly 1,94,720 fresh cases and 442 deaths were reported in previous 24 hours.

A day prior to that, 1,68,063 fresh Covid cases and 277 deaths were reported across the country.

On Monday morning, the government said 1,79,723 new COVID cases and 146 deaths were registered across the country during the preceding 24 hours.

On Sunday, 1,59,632 fresh cases were reported in 24 hours, against 1,41,986 recorded during the preceding day.
