New Delhi: India registered 7,219 fresh Covid cases in the last 24 hours, Union Health Ministry said today.

The country’s active caseload stood at 56,745 constituting 0.13% of the total Covid cases, it said.

According to the Ministry, the cumulative death toll due to the pandemic since 2020 rose to 5,27,965.

The recovery rate is currently at 98.68%, with 9,651 patients being recovered in the last 24 hours, the ministry said.

With this the cumulative recoveries across the country have reached 4,38,65,016, it said.

The daily positivity rate stands at 1.98% and the weekly positivity rate is at 2.42%, the Ministry said.

With the administration of 25,83,815 Covid vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, the country’s cumulative vaccination coverage has reached 213.01 crores.

Yesterday, the country registered 6,168 fresh Covid cases in 24 hours.
