New Delhi (NVI): With 14,199 new coronavirus infections in the last 24 hours, India’s coronavirus cases tally reached 11,005,850, the Union Health Ministry confirmed today.
The death count climbed to 1,56,385 with the novel coronavirus virus claiming 83 lives during this period, the data showed. The COVID-19 case fatality rate stood at 1.42 per cent.
Currently, more than 1.06 crore patients have been cured and recovered across the country and the total number of recoveries stand at 10,699,410 pushing the national recovery rate to 97.32 per cent.
Meanwhile, there are 1,50,055 active cases of coronavirus infection in the country, the data stated.
In worst-affected Maharashtra, the COVID-19 cases increased to 21,00,884 followed by Kerala with 10,34,657 and Karnataka with 9,48,149 positive cases.
The other worst hit states are Andhra Pradesh (8,89,298), Tamil Nadu (8,48,275), Delhi (6,37,900) and Uttar Pradesh (6,02,785).
At the same time, India’s vaccination drive has crossed the 1.1-crore mark with 11,116,584 beneficiaries being vaccinated through 230,888 sessions.
