India sees substantial drop in Covid cases

New Delhi: India saw a drop in single day Covid numbers, with 2,51,209 cases being registered, against 2,86,384 recorded during the preceding day.

According to the Union Health Ministry, the country registered 627 fatalities in the last 24 hours.

With this, the cumulative death toll due to the Covid pandemic has reached 4,92,327.

The active cases stood at 21,05,611 and the daily positivity rate is at 15.88%.

Nearly 3,47,443 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours, taking the cumulative recoveries to 3,80,24,771, the Ministry said.

Yesterday, the country registered 2,86,384 fresh Covid cases, against 2,85,914 recorded a day earlier.

The country also recorded 573 deaths during the preceding 24 hours.

A day prior to that, the country registered 2,55,874 fresh Covid cases and 614 fatalities in 24 hours.

On Monday morning, the country registered 3,06,064 new cases and 439 deaths in 24 hours.

A day earlier, the government reported 3,33,533 new cases and 525 deaths in the preceding 24 hours.
