New Delhi (NVI): As the centralised free vaccination drive commenced in India, the cumulative number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in the country has crossed the 29 crore mark, the health ministry said today.
”A total of 29,46,39,511 vaccine doses have been administered through 39,49,630 sessions, as per the provisional report till 7 am today,” the health ministry said in a statement.
The new phase of universalization of COVID19 vaccination commenced on June 21.
Over 54,24,374 vaccine doses were administered in the last 24 hours, it said.
“A total of 19,01,056 test were conducted in the last 24 hours with substantially ramped up testing capacity across the country,” the Ministry added.
Cumulatively, India has conducted over 39.59crore (39,59,73,198) tests so far.
While on one side testing has been enhanced across the country, a continued decline in weekly case positivity is noticed, it said.
The weekly positivity rate is currently at 3.12% while the Daily Positivity rate stands at 2.67% today. It has remained less than 5% for 16 consecutive days now, the statement added.
