New Delhi (NVI): The total number of coronavirus cases in India are nearing 10.4 million and currently stands at 1,03,95,278 with an increase of 20,346 cases in the last 24 hours, according to Union Health Ministry data.
The country’s death toll has gone up to 1,50,336 with 222 fatalities registered during this period.
Notably, more than 10 million people have now recovered from the virus and the total recoveries currently stands at 1,00,16,859 while active Covid-19 cases have dropped further to 2.2 lakh mark and stands at 2,28,083.
Meanwhile, Maharashtra remains the worst-affected state with total 19,54,553 confirmed Covid-19 cases which include 49,825 deaths. The active cases in the state stand at 51,969 and 18,52,759 recoveries.
It is followed by Karnataka (9,24,137), Andhra Pradesh (8,83,876), Tamil Nadu (8,23,181) and Kerala (7,90,882).
In addition to this, the total number of people who have tested positive for the new UK strain of the coronavirus in the country now stands at 73, the Health Ministry said.
