New Delhi (NVI): The total number of coronavirus cases in India have surpassed 10.35 million and currently stands at 1,03,56,844, with an increase of 16,375 cases in the last 24 hours, according to Union Health Ministry data.
The country’s death toll has gone up to 1,49,850 with 201 fatalities registered during this period.
Notably, 99,75,958 patients have recovered from the deadly contagion all over the country while active Covid-19 cases have dropped further to 2.3 lakh mark and stands at 2,31,036.
With this, the national recovery rate improved to 96.4 per cent in the country.
Meanwhile, a total of three persons have tested positive for the new UK variant of coronavirus in Rajasthan’s Sriganganagar district.
Till now, a total of 38 samples have been found to be positive with the new UK variant genome of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus in India, confirmed the Health Ministry.
Maharashtra remains the worst-affected state with total 19,47,011 confirmed Covid-19 cases which include 49,695 deaths. The active cases in the state stand at 49,955 and 18,17,361 recoveries.
It is followed by Karnataka (9,22,538), Andhra Pradesh (8,83,210), Tamil Nadu (8,21,550) and Kerala (7,78,873).
