India’s Covid tally rises to 98.57 lakh with 30,254 fresh cases

New Delhi (NVI): India’s Covid tally rose 98.57 lakh today with 30,254 fresh coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, the Health Ministry said.

With this, the country has a total of 98,57,029 infections now, the second-highest in the world after the US. The national recovery rate is now at 94.93%.

Apart from that, India reported 391 Covid deaths, taking the total number of fatalities to 1,43,019. The total active cases in the country stand at 3,56,546, which comprises 3.62% of the total caseload.

Maharashtra, the worst affected state in the country, recorded 4,259 fresh cases taking the overall caseload to 18,76,699.

Kerala has witnessed the highest jump in 24 hours with 5,949 cases, taking its Covid tally to 6,64,662.

93,57,464 Covid patients have recovered so far, pushing the national recovery rate to 94.93 per cent. The COVID-19 case fatality rate stands at 1.45 per cent.
