New Delhi (NVI): The number of coronavirus cases in India reached 23,29,638 after 60,963 fresh cases were reported in the last 24 hours, Union Health Ministry said.
The country’s death toll stands at 46,091 with 834 fresh fatalities being reported during this period.
So far, 16,39,599 patients have recovered all over the country. With this, the recovery rate rises to 70.4 per cent in India.
In worst-hit Maharashtra the coronavirus tally reaches 5,35,601, followed by Tamil Nadu (3,08,649), Andhra Pradesh (2,44,549) and Delhi (1,47,391).
The other worst affected states are Karnataka (1,88,611), Uttar Pradesh (1,37,763), West Bengal (1,01,390) and Gujarat (73,163).
In terms of fatalities, Maharashtra tops the tally with 18,306 deaths, ministry said.

According to Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), the total number of 2,60,15,297 samples tested up to August 11, for COVID-19. Of these, 7,33,449 samples were tested yesterday.
Meanwhile, coronavirus patients are taking longer to recover, experts believe the focus now needs to be on the road to recovery. Therefore, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi has decided to start a post-coronavirus recovery clinic to monitor such cases.
