India’s single day Covid cases fall below 20K

New Delhi: India’s single-day Covid cases fell below 20,000 after 201 days as the country registered 18,795 new infections in the last 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry said today.

The country recorded 179 fatalities in the last 24 hours, the Ministry said.

With this increase, the total active cases now are 2,92,206 while the cumulative death toll has gone up to 4,47,373, it said.

Nearly 26,030 patients have recovered in the last 24 hrs, taking the total number of recoveries to 3,29,58,002.

A total of 87,07,08,636 COVID vaccine doses administered across the country so far with inoculation of 1,02,22,525 beneficiaries in the last 24 hours, the Ministry said.

The number of fresh cases reported today is less than the figure reported yesterday, when the figure was 26,041.

On Sunday, the country recorded 28,326 fresh COVID-19 cases and 260 deaths in 24 hours.

Nearly 29,616 fresh COVID-19 cases and 290 deaths were reported across the country, a day earlier.

The previous day report said 31,382 COVID-19 cases and 318 deaths were registered in 24 hours.

At least, 31,923 fresh Covid cases and 282 deaths were reported from across the country on Thursday.

On Wednesday, the country recorded 26,964 fresh COVID-19 cases and 383 deaths in 24 hours.
