India’s single day Covid cases fall to 8,488 in 538 days

New Delhi: India registered 8,488 fresh Covid cases in the last 24 hours, which is the lowest single-day figure in 538 days, the Union Health Ministry said today.

The country recorded 249 Covid deaths during the last 24 hours, taking the cumulative death toll to 4,65,911.

The active caseload across the country now stands at 1,18,443, which is the lowest in 534 days, the Ministry said.

Nearly 12,510 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours, taking the cumulative tally of recovered patients to 3,39,34,547.

The tally of vaccination has reached 1,16,87,28,385 with 32,99,337 people being inoculated in the last 24 hours.

Yesterday, the country reported 10,488 fresh Covid cases and 313 fatalities in last 24 hours.

A day prior to that, 10,302 fresh COVID-19 cases and 267 fatalities were reported in 24 hours.

On Friday, the country registered 11,106 fresh Covid cases and 459 fatalities in 24 hours.

Nearly 11,919 fresh Covid cases and 470 fatalities were registered from across the country on Thursday.

The country registered 8,865 fresh Covid cases and 197 deaths in 24 hours, a day earlier.

During the previous 24 hours, 10,229 new cases and 125 deaths were reported from across the country.
