New Delhi: India saw a surge in single day Covid deaths, with 1399 fatalities being registered in the last 24 hours, against 30 during the same duration the previous day.

The country also recorded 2,483 new cases during the last 24 hours, the Health Ministry said.

The country’s cumulative death toll has now reached 5,23,622 while active cases stand at 15,636.

Nearly 1,970 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours, taking the cumulative recoveries to 4,25,23,311, it said.

The country’s daily positivity rate now stands at 0.55% and weekly positivity rate at 0.58%.

Yesterday, the country registered 2,541 fresh Covid cases and 30 fatalities in 24 hours.

A day prior to that, the country registered 2,593 fresh Covid cases and 44 fatalities in 24 hours.

The country registered 2,527 new cases a day before within 24 hours.

On Friday morning, the country registered 2,451 fresh Covid cases and 54 fatalities in 24 hours.

The country registered 2,380 fresh Covid cases and 54 fatalities during the previous 24 hours.
