New Delhi (NVI): A Lucknow-bound IndiGo plane from Sharjah was diverted to Karachi in Pakistan after an on-board passenger suffered heart attack.

However, the passenger could not be revived and was declared dead on arrival by the airport medical team, according to an official statement by the airline.

The pilot sought permission from the Air Traffic Controller (ATC) after communicating the situation and later was allowed to land at the Jinnah International Airport Karachi.

The emergency landing was timed around 5 am today.

The flight — 6e1412 — later landed at Lucknow airport early morning.
