According to the reports, the bridge dubbed as world’s highest railway bridge worth Rs 1,250-crore is 359 metres above the Chenab river bed, which stands 35 metres taller than the iconic Eiffel Tower in Paris.
The work on putting the main arch of bridge began in November 2017.
Although, the construction of arch bridge started in 2004, but the project was stopped in 2008-09 for safety of rail passengers due to frequent high velocity winds in the area, the reports said.
Apart from that, the 1.3 km long bridge is also a part of an ambitious railway project connecting Jammu and Kashmir to the other parts of the country.
