Srinagar (NVI): The Indian Army foiled yet another infiltration bid along the Line of Control as it shot dead one of the two intruders who were trying to cross over to this side of LoC in Uri sector of north Kashmir’s Baramulla, defence officials said today.
According to defence sources, two infiltrators were spotted crossing Rewand Nala along the LoC with the help of surveillance devices in Uri, north Kashmir late last night.
A search operation was launched and contact established, they said, adding that Pakistani troops fired back to provide cover to one of the infiltrators. However, one infiltrator successfully eliminated after effective firing from the Indian side.
Security forces have recovered 1 Ak-47 assault rifle, 1 magazine, 30 rounds and a search operation is in progress, they said.
