New Delhi (NVI): Israel’s participation in the Aero India show 2021 is on track, despite Covid-19 lockdown restrictions, Israel’s envoy to India, Ron Malka said.
Three largest defense industry firms in the country – Israel Aerospace Industries, Rafael Advanced Defense Systems and Elbit Systems – are set to participate in the event, Israel’s newspaper Haaretz reported.
“Israel’s participation in Aero India is on track. We are committed to our friendship with India,” Malka said ahead of the show in Bengaluru.
Israel, one of India’s key defence partners, is an important participant in the Aero India show.
India is one of the largest weapons customers in Asia and is also a strategic client of Israel’s military industries.
The Israeli delegation will be fully vaccinated and each passenger will have to be given a personal suit in order to comply with COVID restrictions, Haaretz further reported.
Aero India 2021, considered Asia’s largest aerospace exhibition, will be held in Yelahanka Air Force Base, Bengaluru. It is a 3-day event starting from February 3 and ending on February 5.
The inaugural ceremony will be attended by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. Aero India exhibition is organized every alternate year. It is one of the major exhibitions for the aerospace and defense (A&D) industries.
This is the first-of-its-kind hybrid air show. This means that while people can attend the show in person, those who can’t make it due to Covid restrictions in their countries can attend it digitally
The show will see the participation of top aviation firms, while India will showcase its indigenous defence capability, with an eye on Africa and the Indian Ocean Region (IOR) for the export of fighter jets, helicopters and missiles.
Another highlight of the three-day show will be India hosting the defence ministers of about 28 IOR countries, including Iran, USA, Russia etc.
Apart from global aviation giants such as Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Dassault and Airbus, the show will also see the participation of top defence firms involved in the aviation sector including Thales, BAE Systems and missile manufacturer MBDA.
Aero India-21 adapts itself to the pandemic norms and aims to provide the much-needed platform for decision Makers and A&D businesses globally to get exposed to opportunities, form new partnerships and strengthen existing ones.
