Rajouri (J&K) : At least 3 people were killed and 10 injured tonight as unidentified terrorists targeted civilians by firing at them in a far-off village of Rajouri district bordering Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to police and eyewitnesses, at least 2 terrorists went of a firing spree in Dhangi village of Rajouri before disappearing.
The firing left several people injured, 3 of whom succumbed to their wounds soon after, officials said.
The death toll is likely to increase as some of the injured are critical with multiple bullet wounds.
An alert has been sounded in Rajouri and adjoining districts and a hunt launched to track down the culprits.
The terror attack in Rajouri in Jammu region comes barely a few days after police and security forces intercepted a group of 4 heavily-armed terrorists in Jammu district and killed them in an encounter.
