Srinagar (NVI): External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar arrived in Kashmir today on a surprise visit and is expected to meet families of students who are stuck in Iran.
Around 25 students from different parts of the Valley are stranded in the coronavirus-hit country that has reported a number of deaths due to COVID-19.
Jaishankar will also visit Srinagar Passport Office and Passport Seva Kendra in Baramulla district of north Kashmir today.
He said that efforts were also underway for the return of Indian pilgrims stuck in Iran.
“Screening process has started and follows up arrangements are being discussed with Iranian authorities,” he added.
