Srinagar (NVI): Traffic on the 270-km long Jammu-Srinagar national highway was today suspended due to landslides and mudslides near Banihal early this morning.

“Srinagar-Jammu National Highway blocked since 3 am today [Wednesday], due to a landslide at Shabanbas Banihal,” official said.

Furthermore, an oil tanker is stuck at the site, he added.

Road clearance and restoration work is underway on the National Highway.

Earlier on Saturday also, vehicular traffic was halted on the highway after heavy overnight rains triggered shooting stones and landslides in Banihal area of Ramban district.
