Srinagar (NVI): Two Jaish-e-Muhammad terrorists were killed, while an Army soldier was injured in an overnight encounter in Mouchwa area of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district, officials said today.
A police official said that two terrorists were killed, while an Army soldier sustained injuries in the overnight gunbattle in Mouchwa area.
“Injured soldier has been shifted to 92 Base hospital for treatment, where his condition is said to be stable,” the official said, adding that, bodies of two terrorists have been retrieved. ” One AK-47 riffle and a pistol was recovered from slain terrorists,” he added.
Yesterday late evening, a joint team of Srinagar Police, Budgam Police and Army’s 50RR launched a cordon and search operation in Mouchwa area.
As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding terrorists fired upon the forces, triggering off an gunfight.
The operation was put on a halt yesterday due to darkness and was resumed early this morning with killing of two terrorists. “The identity of slain terrorists is being ascertained,” the official said.
