Srinagar (NVI): Indian Army this morning said that it has foiled an infiltration bid and killed 3 infiltrators in Akhnoor Sector along Line of Control (LoC) of Jammu region.
Defence sources said Pakistan Army started heavy shelling in Khour area of LoC’s Akhnoor sector on Tuesday night to facilitate infiltration of militants.
“Four Army soldiers were injured in Pakistani shelling and three militants were killed in Indian retaliatory action while the infiltration bid was foiled,” Defence sources said.
They said the bodies of the slain infiltrators are lying on Pakistan side of the LoC and have not been so far picked up by Pakistani troops.
When contacted, an official refused to divulge any information, however he said Pakistan targeted Indian Forward Posts in Akhnor Sector of Jammu and the attack was retaliated effectively.
