J&K: 3 of a family injured in Pak shelling in Poonch

Poonch (NVI): Three of a family including two children were injured after Pakistan Army violated ceasefire today evening in Mankote Sector of Poonch district and resorted to intense shelling.

A Defence official said, ”At about 1745 hours today, Pakistan army initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation by firing with small arms and intense shelling with mortars along the LoC in Mankote sector, Poonch.”

He said Indian Army retaliated befittingly to the Pakistani aggression.

Further, the official said that a shell landed in the premises of a local injuring three of a family. The injured included an elderly man and 2 children who have been evacuated and shifted to the hospital for treatment.

The intermittent exchange of Pakistan shelling was going on till the filing of this report.
