J&K: 3 suspected militants held with pistols, grenades in Anantnag

Anantnag (NVI): Three suspected militants were held with pistols and grenades in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district this evening, police said.

The trio was apprehended in Pazalpora area of Bijbehara, they said, adding that two pistols and three grenades were recovered from their possession.

The trio has been identified as Irfan Ahmed Ahanger of Khanabal, Imran Nabi Hajam of Nathpora in  Khanabal and Bilal Ahmed Kumar, a resident of Heff Shirmal in Shopian.

Police sources further said the apprehended persons are being questioned while a formal case has been registered against them under relevant sections of law.

Meanwhile, a gunfight is underway between militants and security forces in Lelhar area of South Kashmir. Two militants are believed to be trapped while intermittent firing is going on.
