J&K: 33 travelers among 453 fresh Covid cases, tally at 15,711

Srinagar (NVI): The number of Covid-19 cases in Jammu and Kashmir today mounted to 15,711 as 453 more people tested positive for the deadly virus that include 33 travelers, two expecting mothers and an employee of Lal Ded maternity hospital in Srinagar.

Among 453 new cases, 352 belong to Kashmir division while 101 are from Jammu division, officials said, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir has reached 12,477 including 6734 recoveries and 253 deaths while the total number of positive cases in Jammu have reached 3234 including 1873 recoveries and 20 deaths.

Officials said that the total number of active cases in J&K is 6831 including 5490 from Kashmir and 1341 from Jammu.

With 152 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in the UT has reached 8607 which is 54.77 percent of the total cases, which was over 63 percent a few days before.

Pertinently, Srinagar district alone has 3450 positive cases, which is more than the total number of positive cases in Jammu where total cases are 3234.

Cases tested positive in J&K include 165 from Srinagar, 58 from Baramulla, 62 from Kulgam, 16 from Shopian, 1 from Anantnag, 11 from Kupwara, 30 from Pulwama, 04 from Budgam and 05 from Bandipora in Kashmir division while as 101 from Jammu division include 14 from Jammu, 10 from Kathua, 47 from Rajouri, 08 from Udhampur, 04 from Samba, 06 from Doda, 04 from Poonch and 08 from Reasi.

As per the daily information bulletin, 3,41,263 persons in J&K are under observation while 39,981 persons have been kept under home quarantine. Besides that, 6831 persons are in hospital isolation while 11 persons are under hospital quarantine.

According to the bulletin, 2,52,383 persons have completed surveillance period and 41,784 persons are under home surveillance.

So far, results of 5,37,891 samples are available out of which 5,22,180 tested negative while 15,711 have been tested positive. Among positive, 6831 are active and 8607 persons have recovered while 273 have died.
