47 people booked for violating govt orders in Kashmir

Srinagar (NVI): Jammu and Kashmir police booked 47 people across the Valley today for violating government orders imposed in the wake of coronavirus outbreak.

In Baramulla district, police have booked 22 persons for violating the government orders. Out of these 22, 10 shopkeepers were arrested by police for violating the government norms, adding that a case vide FIR number 51/2020 under section 188 was registered against them.

Similarly, 16 people were booked for defying the restrictions imposed by the administration in south Kashmir’s Shopian district.

In Anantnag district, one violator was booked, while eight businessmen were booked in Kupwara district.

In the Jammu region also, nearly three dozen people have been booked for violating government orders.

The Jammu and Kashmir administration has imposed restrictions till March 31 and people have been asked to stay indoors till further orders.

Moreover, the Jammu and Kashmir police had also used drones today to make announcements of restriction under section 144 CrPc, officials said, adding that the police were also keeping eye on the localities to see whether anyone is violating the government orders.
