J&K: 8 civilians injured in grenade attack in Pulwama

Pulwama (NVI): At least 8 civilians were injured after suspected militants hurled a grenade towards security forces in Tral town of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district today.

Police sources said that militants hurled a grenade upon the bunker of 16 Battalion SSB B-Coy near bus stand Tral that falls under the jurisdiction of police station Tral.

“The grenade missed the target and exploded with a bang leaving 8 civilians injured and all the injured were shifted to hospital for treatment,” they added.

A police official also said, the injured are identified as Javid Ahmad Ganai (35) of Tral, Wali Muhammad Rather (45) of Paneer Tral, septagenurian Muhammad Abdullah of Hakim Tral, 25 year old Tabish, 26 year old lady Shahzada both residents of Pastuna Tral, Taja Begum (65) of Amirabad Tral, Shaheena (24) of Postuna Tral and 30 year old Bilal Ahmed Naik of Tral Payeen.

However, the area was cordoned off and a search operation was launched, and no arrests were made so far.
