Srinagar, July 16 (NVI): Strongly condemning the terrorist attack that killed 4 Indian Army men in Doda, President of J&K Apni Party Altaf Bukhari today raised questions over the security protocols and intelligence-gathering mechanisms.

He specifically targeted DGP of Jammu and Kashmir R R Swain, alleging that he “speaks more on politics than on security matters”.

Bukhari urged the government and security agencies to strengthen their collaboration and coordination to counter the growing threats effectively.

Describing the Doda terror attack as “a cowardly act that deserves the utmost censure”, he said, “It is condemnable that our security forces are facing such deadly attacks. There seems to be a significant gap in our intelligence gathering or other areas of our security apparatus.”

The Apni Party leader emphasized the urgent need for a thorough review of the security protocols and intelligence-gathering mechanisms to prevent such tragic incidents in the future.

The security forces must identify where they are going wrong to prevent further martyrdom of our brave soldiers, he said.

He called upon the security agencies to introspect and pinpoint the weaknesses in their strategies.

“Our forces need to enhance their intelligence network and ensure that such lapses do not happen again. The sacrifice of our soldiers should not go in vain, and it is imperative that we take immediate corrective measures,” Bukhari added.

Targeting the DGP, Bukhari said Swain is less interested in speaking on security issues, which should be his priority.

He also appealed to the local population to support the security forces by providing timely and accurate information about any suspicious activities. (News Vibes of India)
