Jammu, Nov 30(NVI): The School Education Department of Jammu and Kashmir has issued a new circular setting guidelines for determining the minimum age for children seeking admission in Nursery, Balvatika, Pre-School, and Anganwadi programs.

This decision follows several representations regarding the need to align the admission process with the recently restored November-December academic calendar in Kashmir Division and the winter zones of Jammu Division.

According to the circular a copy of which lies with NVI reads, the minimum age requirement adheres to the National Education Policy-2020 (NEP-2020), which mandates that children entering such programs must be over three years of age.

To ensure compliance, the department has fixed November 30 of the admission year as the deadline for calculating a child’s minimum age.

Educational institutions across Kashmir Division and the winter zones of Jammu Division have been instructed to strictly implement these guidelines to ensure a smooth and efficient admission process. The move aims to streamline the admission process while maintaining adherence to NEP-2020. (News Vibes of India)
