Srinagar (NVI): Jammu and Kashmir today recorded the biggest single-day surge in coronavirus cases with 1,316 fresh infections, including 100 travelers, taking the total number of positive cases in the Union Territory to 43,557.
Of the total cases, 31,739 are from Kashmir and 11,818 from Jammu division.
The UT health officials said that of 1,316 new cases, 648 are from Kashmir while 668 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division has reached 31,739 including 25,156 recoveries.
On the other hand, the total number of positive cases in Jammu division has reached 11,818 including 7,171 recoveries and 98 deaths.
The officials said that the total number of active cases in J&K is 10,446, including 5,897 from Kashmir division and 4,549 from Jammu division.
With 403 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in the UT has reached 32,327 which is 74.21 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 185 from Srinagar, 59 from Baramulla, 49 from Pulwama, 69 from Budgam, 61 from Anantnag, 32 from Bandipora, 93 from Kupwara, 11 from Kulgam, 07 from Shopian and 82 from Ganderbal in Kashmir division while as 668 from Jammu division include 451 from Jammu, 42 from Rajouri, 31 from Kathua, 17 from Udhampur, 28 from Samba, 10 from Ramban, 36 from Doda, 26 from Poonch, 08 from Reasi and 19 from Kishtwar,” read the daily Covid bulletin.
As per the daily information bulletin, 4,77,902 persons in the UT are under observation while 41,386 persons have been kept under home quarantine. Besides that, 10,446 persons are in isolation.
In addition to this, 3,76,497 persons have completed the surveillance period and 48,789 persons are under home surveillance.
So far, results of 10,74,998 samples are available out of which negative cases stand at 1,031,441 while 43,557 have tested positive. Among positive cases 10,446 are active while 32,327 have recovered.
