Srinagar (NVI): A day after taking charge as the first Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Girish Chandra Murmu released a special cover of Department of Posts to commemorate the creation of J&K Union Territory.
During the release of the special cover here on November 1, Chief Post Master General, J&K Circle, PD Tshering was also present, the DIPR-J&K said in a tweet.
“Lieutenant Governor releases Special Cover of Department of Posts, J&K Circle, to commemorate the creation of Union Territory of J&K. Chief Post Master General, J&K Circle P.D. Tshering was present on the occasion,” DIPR-J&K tweeted.
Later, the Lt Governor also met administrative secretaries, senior most officers of civil administration.
He directed the secretaries to work towards public welfare with utmost commitment and ensure prompt, efficient delivery of public services to the people.
Girish Chandra Murmu took oath on October 31. He was administered the oath of office by Chief Justice of Jammu and Kashmir High Court Geeta Mittal.
