Srinagar, Dec 5 (NVI) : The Jammu & Kashmir Pavilion sponsored by the Jammu & Kashmir Trade Promotion Organization (JKTPO) captivated audiences at the 18th Punjab International Trade Expo (PITEX) held in Amritsar from December 05 to 09.
Featuring a breathtaking display of traditional craftsmanship, authentic products and innovative entrepreneurship, the pavilion emerged as a star attraction, drawing widespread praise from visitors, business delegations and media alike.
With 30 curated stalls—including 12 led by women entrepreneurs—the pavilion showcased the rich cultural heritage and economic vibrancy of Jammu and Kashmir. Highlights included Basohli Pashmina shawls, Kani and Sozni embroidered apparel, the globally renowned Kashmiri saffron, exquisite dry fruits, hand-embroidered Phirans, Kashmiri garments, honey and the famous Rajmash from Jammu.
The pavilion became a lively hub where over four lakh visitors from India and abroad not only purchased these exceptional products but also connected directly with artisans, hearing the heartfelt stories behind their creations. This engagement resulted in significant sales exceeding Rs 1 crore, along with promising business leads for future orders, underscoring the economic potential of the region’s artisans and entrepreneurs.
The event also fostered B2B and B2C interactions, enabling local businesses to access wider markets and forge valuable partnerships. PITEX 2024 featured participants from 15 Indian states and international exhibitors, further amplifying the reach of Jammu & Kashmir’s offerings on a global stage.
The success of the pavilion highlights JKTPO’s commitment to promoting local artisans and entrepreneurs. Building on this momentum, JKTPO has recently organized key events such as the JK Textile Sourcing Fair 2024 in Srinagar, the Basmati Fair in Jammu, and its participation in IITF 2024 in Delhi.
Looking ahead, JKTPO is set to showcase Jammu and Kashmir’s potential at prominent events like the India International Mega Trade Fair in Kolkata, Indus Food, MITEX, Surajkund Mela, and Bharat Tex 2025. Additionally, it plans to organize the 2nd Agro & Food Fest on January 22, 2025, and the Winter Edition of the JK Trade Show on January 31, 2025.
This vibrant participation reflects JKTPO’s mission to bridge cultures, empower livelihoods, and drive economic growth in Jammu and Kashmir, solidifying the Union Territory’s reputation as a hub of creativity and enterprise. (News Vibes of India)
