Kishtwar, Jan 18(NVI): The Jammu and Kashmir Police in Kishtwar district of Jammu have released posters of four active terrorists, each with a bounty of Rs 5 lakh for providing information leading to their capture.

The authorities have appealed to the public for any assistance, stressing that the identities of informants will be kept confidential to ensure their safety.

The wanted terrorists, whose names and photographs have been prominently displayed across the district, are believed to be involved in ongoing terrorist activities in the region. Posters are being circulated in high-footfall areas such as marketplaces, bus stands and other public locations as part of a broader effort to engage local residents in the fight against terrorism.

“This is a crucial move to involve the public in our ongoing counter-terrorism operations,” said a senior police official. “We urge citizens to come forward with any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem. Even the smallest lead could be pivotal in neutralizing these threats.”

The Rs 5 lakh reward per terrorist is intended to encourage people to provide actionable intelligence. To ensure the safety of those willing to help, dedicated helplines have been set up, and the police have assured complete confidentiality for informants.

Kishtwar has seen sporadic terrorist activities in the past, making it a focal point for security forces. By involving the public, the police aim to create a unified front to restore peace and security in the district.

“We are relying on the support of the community to bring an end to terrorism in Kishtwar,” the police official added. “Together, we can overcome these challenges and work toward a safer future for everyone.” (News Vibes of India)
