J&K Police Deny False Social Media Reports on Non-Local Workers in Kashmir

Srinagar, Oct 22 (NVI): The Jammu and Kashmir Police has dismissed recent social media reports suggesting that non-local workers have been asked to leave the valley.

In a Tweet on Tuesday, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir, V.K Birdi clarified that these claims are baseless and urged the public not to be misled by such false information circulating online.

The IGP reiterated the police’s commitment to ensuring security and maintaining a safe environment for all individuals, including non-locals pursuing their livelihoods in the region.

“Social media reports claiming the local administration has asked non-local workers to leave the valley are false. The Jammu and Kashmir Police is committed to ensure security and fostering a safe environment for all individuals,” Tweeted Kashmir Zone Police. “To pursue their livelihoods without fear or intimidation. General public is advised not to pay heed to such false information on social media platforms: IGP Kashmir,” reads another tweet.   (News Vibes of India)
