Srinagar, Sep 27(NVI): For the second phase of Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Elections, a voter turnout of 57.31was recorded, Election Commission Of India (ECI) said in its updated statement. Earlier, on the voting day, (September 25), the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) J&K had stated that 56 percent polling were recorded.
As per ECI, the voter turnout figures were as Male Turnout,58.35%, Female Turnout: 56.22% and Third Gender Turnout, 30.19%. Throughout the polling day, voter turnout trends were monitored and updated every two hours through the ECI’s Voter Turnout App, starting from 9:30 am onwards.
According to the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of J&K, all polling parties returned safely after the conclusion of voting. The scrutiny process was completed in the presence of the candidates or their authorized agents, ensuring transparency.
The voter turnout data for each Assembly Constituency and gender has been compiled and provided to the candidates through their polling agents, along with a copy of Form 17C. However, it should be noted that the final vote count will only be available after the counting of postal ballots, which include votes from service voters, absentee voters (such as those over 85, persons with disabilities, and essential service providers), and voters on election duty.
The Election Commission continues to provide a daily account of received postal ballots to all candidates, following established guidelines.
