J&K records 540 new Covid cases, tally mounts to 19,419

Srinagar (NVI): Jammu and Kashmir today recorded 540 fresh Covid-19 cases including 67 travelers, taking the total number of positive cases 19,419.

With this, 15,201 cases are from Kashmir and 4218 from the Jammu division.

Officials said that among 540 new cases, 389 belong to Kashmir division while 151 are from Jammu, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir has reached 15,201 including 9086 recoveries while the total number of positive cases in Jammu has reached 4218 including 2236 recoveries and 25 deaths.

The officials said that the total number of active cases in J&K is 7749 including 5792 from the Kashmir division and 1957 from the Jammu division.

With 437 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 11,322 which is 58.30 percent of the total cases which was over 63 percent a few days before.

Pertinently, Srinagar district alone has 4476 positive cases which is more than the total number of positive cases in Jammu where total cases are 4218.

“Cases that tested positive in J&K include 203 from Srinagar, 20 from Baramulla, 15 from Kulgam, 4 from Shopian, 26 from Anantnag, 3 from Kupwara, 67 from Pulwama, 45 from Budgam, 3 from Bandipora and 3 from Ganderbal in Kashmir division while 151 from Jammu division include 49 from district Jammu, 17 from Kathua, 33 from Rajouri, 10 from Udhampur, 08 from Ramban, 12 from Samba, 06 from Doda, 05 from Poonch, 05 from Kishtwar and 06 from Reasi,” officials said.
