Srinagar, July 10 (NVI): Jammu and Kashmir Police on Friday dismissed as “false and misleading” reports circulating on social media regarding two individuals, stating that both are in lawful custody in connection with a criminal case.
Police said the two men, along with another associate, were arrested in connection with FIR No. 55/2026 registered at Heerpora police station in Shopian district of Kashmir and are currently in lawful custody.
In a statement, police appealed to the public not to believe or share unverified information on social media, warning that strict legal action would be taken against those found spreading rumours or misinformation.
The police also advised people to rely only on official sources for authentic information.(NVI)
