J&K Tourism Dept organises road show in Lucknow to attract summer visitors

Lucknow (NVI): The J&K Tourism Department while continuing its efforts to attract the summer visitors to the Union Territory today organised a road show in the city of Nawabs Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.

The road show was conducted by J&K Tourism Department in collaboration with Association of Jammu Travel agents and Travel Trade Association of UP at the convention hall of Hotel Fairfield (Marriott) Gomti Nagar, according to an official statement.

It included series of events starting with press briefing and media interaction, followed by interaction with the travel trade of Uttar Pradesh.

J&K Tourism also deputed two officers Deputy Director Tourism of Jammu Anil Kumar Chandeil and Shahnawaz A Shah marketing head SKICC to present Jammu Kashmir’s rich tourism attractions like pilgrim tourism, sports leisure, adventure, cuisine ,culture, heritage, lake tourism, festivals, handicrafts, wild life, temples, shrines etc.

During the interaction, Kumar briefed the media and travel trade about the present tourism scenario and J&K governments facilitation for the upcoming tourism season and showcased the rich heritage, temples and scenic beauty of Jammu.

On the other hand, the head of SKICC presented the larger canvas of Kashmir for the summer season vis a vis, pilgrim tourism, adventure, golfing, shopping and other craft and cultural heritage of Jammu and Kashmir.

The team also spoke about the common thread between Lucknow and Kashmir since the era of Nawab Asif ud Doulah.

It also stressed the lukhnowites to send large chunk of visitors to the Himalayan paradise which was reciprocated well by the audience including the major travel trade bodies of UP, as per the statement.

TAAI chairman for UP and Uttarakhand, S M Akhlaq Sheeraz, President Travel Trade Association of UP Vivek Pandey, Y P Singh Director ARI department of culture, Rajesh Chandan president Association of Jammu Travel agents and Amit Gupta Gen secretary Association of Jammu travel agents were also present on the occasion.
