Srinagar (NVI): The Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Department participated in the World Travel Mart (WTM) in London to showcase the huge potential J&K offers to visitors, travelers and adventure lovers.
Principal Secretary Tourism Navin Kumar Choudhary along with Deputy Secretary Tourism Waseem Raja attended the prestigious event to promote the tourism potential among the travel leaders of the globe, a statement said.
The annual WTM at London provides a huge platform to promote tourism where several countries from across the globe are participating to showcase their tourism products.
Every year, the event is sponsored by Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, in which several states including J&K participate and interact with global leaders in the tourism sector as part of their promotion activity.
This year, the Indian pavilion at WTM focused on India’s rich culture and heritage, besides niche tourism products like cuisine, wellness, wildlife and luxury under the ‘Incredible India’ campaign with the theme ‘Find the Incredible in You’.
Cultural programmes including ‘India Evening’ were major attractions at this year’s WTM.
Union Tourism Secretary Yogendra Tripathi along with senior officers including the Principal Secretary Tourism of J&K, held an interactive session and press conference at ‘India Evening’.
Besides undertaking various promotional activities, Navin Kumar Choudhary also held separate meetings with various tourism players and trade groups of London and informed them about various unique tourism products J&K has to offer.
