Srinagar, July 04 (NVI):- Omar Abdullah, the Vice-President of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) and former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, expressed hope in the timely conduct of elections in the region.
His remarks came following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s statement in Srinagar and repeated assurances by Home Minister Amit Shah, which he believes leaves no room for doubt regarding any potential delays in the electoral process.
Abdullah emphasized that his party, the JKNC, is fully prepared for the upcoming elections. He stated, “There is no reason to doubt that the elections will be delayed. We have received clear assurances from both the Prime Minister and the Home Minister, and we are ready to participate in the elections as scheduled.”
The assurances from the central government officials come at a crucial time, as the political climate in Jammu and Kashmir remains a focal point of national interest. The timely conduct of elections is seen as a significant step towards stabilizing and strengthening democratic processes in the region.
