Srinagar: An obvious attempt by Pakistani terrorists to sneak into Kashmir has been foiled by the Indian Army which recovered arms, ammunition and drugs from Line of Control in Uri Sector.
Following an alert, a joint team of police and army launched a cordon and search operation in Rewand Nallah in Kamalkote area of Uri, an official said.
“There were indications of initiation of early warning system installed by Army and some fires were also spotted,” the official said.
“The search led to the recovery of arms and ammunition including 2 AK-74 Rifles, 02 AK Magazine, 117 rounds, 2 Pistols and 2 pistol magazines and 10 packets of suspected contraband,” he said.

Apparently, the infiltrating terrorists either managed to escape back to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) or could be hiding somewhere in the forested area.
