Srinagar, Mar 22 (NVI) : A wave of humanitarian support has emerged across Kashmir, with people stepping forward to contribute towards relief efforts for those affected in Iran by the ongoing war launched by the US and Israel.

From villages to towns, Kashmiris have been making donations to the humanitarian relief account of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in New Delhi, while many others have also contributed essential items for relief.

Reports suggest that contributions have been made across almost all districts of the Valley, reflecting a strong sense of compassion and solidarity.

Meanwhile, in a post on X, National Conference chief spokesperson and Zadibal MLA Tanvir Sadiq said the response from the people of Kashmir has been remarkable.

“The way people from villages to towns have stepped forward in support is a testament to compassion and collective conscience. This outpouring reflects the finest spirit of humanity,” he said, adding, “Just one humble request: do it, but don’t show it.”

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) MLA Budgam Aga Syed Muntazir Mehdi also expressed solidarity with the people of Iran and announced his contribution towards the relief efforts.

“I stand in solidarity with the people of Iran in this difficult time. As a small gesture of support, I am donating my one month’s salary towards relief efforts. Humanity must come before everything,” he said in a post.

Reports said that apart from Kashmir, similar contributions and gestures of support have also been reported from other parts of the country, highlighting a broader humanitarian response.

The collective effort, marked by both financial aid and material support, underscores a deep-rooted culture of empathy and unity, with people coming together to support those affected by the crisis.(NVI)
