Srinagar, Oct 3 (NVI) : The Kashmir Traders and Manufacturers Federation (KTMF) has raised an alarm over the rising inflation and the heavy tax burden, urging immediate government intervention to provide relief to the working class and small traders.
KTMF General Secretary (Org) Mohammad Altaf Dar, a senior trade union leader, expressed deep concern about the financial strain caused by skyrocketing prices of essential goods and services, coupled with excessive taxation in Jammu and Kashmir.
Altaf Dar said the current economic landscape is unsustainable for many. “The combination of rising inflation and steep taxes is crushing small traders and the hardworking people of our society,” Dar said in a statement. He added many residents are struggling to afford basic needs such as food, healthcare, and education, further widening the region’s economic divide.
He called on the government to reassess the existing tax structure and implement policies that provide immediate relief to the most vulnerable sections of society. Dar also advocated for an open dialogue between the government and business representatives, particularly small traders, to ensure that future policies address their concerns.
With the economy under strain, KTMF’s appeal is gaining urgency, as both consumers and businesses look for solutions to ease their financial burden.(News Vibes of India)
